Lashtail Hatchling Companion Pet

So you all know about my little pet collecting obsession in WOW as well as the fact that I am an achievement whore. Another member of my guild, Mike, is also an achievement whore and we are always battling for the top spot in achievements in our guild. I have only been logging on WOW since Diablo 3 came out to do our RBG’s every week. I’m now only 3 RBG wins away from getting my mount Well during the last couple weeks Mike managed to pass me up on achievement points and I just couldn’t have that. So we logged on Sunday and ran some Heroic Cata dungeons that we somehow never managed to do to get the achieves.

We were in Zul’gurub and just defeated Bloodlord Mandokir when I notice a little dino chained up in the ring with a question mark over his head so I went over to click on him. I was pleasantly surprised when I got the Lashtail Hatchling Companion Pet! Somehow the existence of this cute little dino was completely unknown to me. Not only did I get my achievement for finishing the dungeon I got a bonus in the form of grabbing another pet to add to my collection! That makes 161 companion pets now WOOT!!!!

The Lashtail Hatchling is part of a quest chain. Apparently I had already done the rest of the quest chain and didn’t even realize it.

I’m so glad I got my new little pet and after running a few more dungeons managed to be back at the #1 spot for achievement points in the guild too. I sent Mike a note telling him I was top again. Two days later he sends me a note. “Hope you have more Heroics to do!” Yeah he passed me up again I have a feeling Mike and I are gonna be in a summer long battle. It is gonna be a blast!!!

In the picture above, the Lashtail Hatchling is under the effects of Papa Hummel’s Old-Fashioned Pet Biscuit. The biscuit doubles a targeted Non-Combat Pet’s size for as long as it remains at its master’s side. The biscuits are a common loot card from the trading cards.
